Sample
A 4-mm punch biopsy was acquired from a healthy 44-yr old Caucasian male, fixed and vertically sectioned into 200-micron-thick sections.
Biomarkers
Sections were multi-stained with antibodies to the neuropeptide calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP, green), nerves (PGP9.5, red), and vasculature (Ulex europeaous-FITC, blue).
Acquisition
This image was captured using laser scanning confocal microscopy at 200X magnification and is a projection of one hundred one-micron optical sections.
