Description
Big Flirt™ apples are produced from the ‘MN 1942’ apple developed by the University of Minnesota. ‘MN 1942’ was developed from a cross between ‘Honeycrisp’ and ‘NY543’. Big Flirt combines the crisp juicy texture of ‘Honeycrisp’ with a mild low acid flavor in a unique large bright red apple!
Ripening about one week earlier than ‘Honeycrisp’, Big Flirt apples produce large fruit ready to share in the midst of apple season, or up to 7-9 months after!
Please note: ‘MN 1942’ has a similar scab tolerance as ‘Honeycrisp’ and can also exhibit biennial bearing if not properly managed.
