Transgender Films Illuminate the Beauty of Gender Diversity

The DVD includes an award-winning short film and a feature-length film featuring the unique personal stories from transgender individuals. Alex, Andrea, Debra, Elijah, Grady, Katrina, Morgan, Patrick, Safonia, Shawn and Susan talk candidly about the challenges they encounter in their daily lives before, during, and after transitioning and how in the end they all strive for acceptance and fulfillment. These stories transcend the gender binary and illuminate the beauty of gender diversity. These films are educational and provide an understanding of what it means to identify as transgender, transsexual, or gender variant.

These films were funded by the Minnesota Department of Health and were the product of the Program in Human Sexuality, Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
