Roger Ruan

Dr. Ruan is a professor in the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering. He is interested in non-thermal processing of food and non-invasive and non-destructive tools for food analysis and is involved with the management and utilization of waste. His research projects include:

  • Microwave assisted pyrolysis (MAP) technology for converting biomass feedstock to biofuels
  • Microalgae production technology utilizing and treating sanitary wastewater to produce biofuels from algae
  • Technologies to utilize and treat wastewater streams to produce biofuels
