Allison Hubel is a recognized global leader and innovator in cell and tissue preservation. A Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of MN, Dr. Hubel has almost 20 years of experience spanning basic studies of preservation and preservation injury, development of protocols for preservation and education and training of individuals in preservation through professional short courses. She is currently the Director of the Biopreservation Core Resource (BioCoR, www.biocor.net), a national resource in biopreservation that serves hospitals, biobanks, companies and academic. Dr. Hubel has three patents in the field of preservation and has participated in forming start up companies using her technologies. Dr. Hubel has edited special issues on preservation and was the deputy editor for Biopreservation and Biobanking. Dr. Hubel holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T. and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University.
